Dalton Stanland is a three time Down Beat magazine student award winning saxophonist and was a performance saxophone student at the University of Kentucky, under the direction of Miles Osland. He has performed with notable guest artists including Derek Brown, Miguel Zenon, Ryan Middaugh, and Ernie Watts. Dalton has also received other musical awards including the UK School of Music John Barnes Chance Composition Award and The WPJ (Jazz Division) Award twice. Dalton’s most recent creative accomplishments include original composition for the UK Wind Symphony entitled “Desiderium” to be performed fall of 2024 and “Pogo” featured at the recent 2023 Jazz Education Network (JEN) conference. He continues to hone his craft as he pursues a career in Jazz performance and composition.
